Lead planning for the development of a comprehensive disaster recovery/system contingency and resiliency planning program for Michigan State University's (MSU) central IT Services and distributed campus data centers; provide guidance in developing, coordinating, assessing, and communicating recovery and contingency plans regarding current, planned, and new data center environments across campus, resulting in recommendations that enable timely and effective decisions regarding recovery plans for hardware and software systems; provide complex project management/leadership between various technology groups, focused on regular direct communication with application support management; communicate directly with executive level staff, under the supervision of the Disaster Recovery Services Manager and the Director of University Systems, to coordinate and facilitate continuity and recovery planning activities; responsible for interacting with support groups and campus departments for the purpose of planning, directing, controlling, and maintaining the MSU Disaster Recovery program; coordinate data center and communications network recovery planning efforts with major focus on achieving all financial estimates, assuring adequacy of end-state production recovery environments, meeting strategic planning deliverables, and coordinating activities of technology resources with other university units and development groups; provide direct communications between IT Services and all campus departments; participate in campus business department development/planning meetings and activities as required.; facilitate timely identification, escalation, resolution, and followup for all outstanding issues; assist in enhancing, formalizing and standardizing campus business planning processes, including forecasting and tracking mechanisms across campus business units, to facilitate timely accommodation of future recovery requirements and opportunities; assume a leadership role in developing, coordinating, and maintaining comprehensive data center recovery plans and testing programs to ensure both the ability to recover in the event of an unforeseen disruption to facilities, technology systems or applications and to create system resiliency strategies that allow system survivability during significant events or outages; produce documentation, presentation materials and provide training on disaster recovery, system contingency and resiliency, and business continuity procedures to campus staff members as applicable.; perform periodic audits of existing disaster recovery plans and recommends improvements and enhancements to management.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, engineering, or related technology field; five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in business continuity and/or disaster recovery planning, including demonstrated proficiency in the development of continuity and resiliency strategies, creation of recovery procedures guides and policy manuals, performing business impact and risk analysis; five years of progressive experience supporting enterprise IT systems with demonstrated continuity/contingency/recovery responsibility including at least three of the following: Core and Edge network infrastructure; Enterprise servers and storage; Enterprise backup & recovery; Virtualization; Data Center operations; business applications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related technology field; Certified Project Management Professional (PMP); certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or equivalent, or experience and knowledge that would lead to certification within six months; experience working on an enterprise level disaster recovery team; previous experience with IT Services, particularly disaster recovery and business continuity in a higher education environment; ITIL Foundation certification; experience with IT internal controls, audit, and formal review processes; knowledge of system development, architecture, and data structure design; excellent oral, written, and presentation skills including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users; strong leadership and organizational skills; strong analytical and decision making skills; demonstrated project management experience as a project leader; demonstrated ability to build successful cross functional teams.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
