Cinder Solutions is looking for a solid Android Developer to fill a role for one of our direct clients in Hillsboro, OR. This is a full time, 40 an hour a week position. We offer all full time employees a full, competitive benefits package that includes PTO and Healthcare coverage.
Job Description:
Our client is searching for an Android Developer to develop various applications.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain complex legacy Android 2.3.3 (Froyo) application.
- Assist in development of replacement application targeted at Android 4.4.4 (KitKat).
- Construct and maintain UI activities/elements per specifications.
- Write effective and useful unit test cases for new and existing codebases.
- Assist QA in determining root causes of abnormal behavior.
Required background:
- 1-3 years' experience developing Android applications.
- Ability to rapidly familiarize with a complex codebase with little assistance.
- Knowledge of UI design: activities, fragments, animations, layouts.
- Knowledge of service lifecycle, binding, and IPC using AIDL.
- Knowledge of event loops, broadcasts, and message queues.
- Solid experience using Android to interact with RESTful API endpoints.
- Ability to manage on-device database using both raw SQL and Android SDK-based queries.
- Experience writing effective test cases for both Android and Java-only objects.
Additional preferred requirements
- Native Android code development using JNI in C/C++.
- Knowledge of Java memory model and GC.
- Android-flavored Linux system management.
- Knowledge of M2M-based systems.
- Embedded C development experience.
- Knowledge of embedded communications protocols: SPI, I2C, UART.
- Knowledge of MDB/DEX communications protocols.
- Payment processing systems: EMV, PCI-DSS, contactless payments.
