Job Duties: Design architect, deploy, develop and administer Business Intelligence (BI) reporting applications to support EMC business reporting requirements across a wide variety of reporting tools. Manage, maintain, optimize and customize large implementations of reporting cluster environments. Detailed plan for backup /restore /DR /high availability and monitoring activities. Performance management and effective capacity management for all activities in this space to fulfill EMC business reporting requirements. Technical ownership of implementations across multiple reporting tools. Work closely with the cross functional business technology groups to provide technical expertise in developing business reporting solutions. Coordinate day-to-day activities with offshore production support team.
Job Requirements: Master's degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering plus seven years of progressive post-graduate experience in all of the following: BI landscape and analytics architecture and full BI life cycle implementation; integrating tools with different databases and portals that support visibility/reporting; enabling, tracing and monitoring reporting tools audit data, logs for usage tracking, error debugging and tuning, as well as collecting and reporting all server and services related metrics on a regular basis; developing semantic layers across different BI analytics applications to isolate, business, end users from the technical complexities of the databases with best practice methodology that responds to identified reporting requirements; data visualization and dashboard design; supporting user base when encountered with report errors by replicating the workflows and resolve the issues and documenting whole setup with screenshots, necessary workflows for future reference and user support; and, creating standards, specifications, naming conventions, FAQ documents, training materials and brown bag sessions for business end users.
