The Senior Event Planner is responsible for a wide portfolio of business meetings, incentive programs and special events. This includes making site recommendations, logistics planning and executing meetings in a professional, high quality and positive manner. The Senior Event Planner must exhibit behavior consistent with the Enterprise objectives and stature as a global leader in Life Insurance and Financial Services. This is a highly visible, demanding position and ability to interact with all levels of associates with the company is expected. A successful candidate will have superior communication and decision making skills as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities. Candidate should also have seven to ten years planning expertise in both international and domestic destinations. This position reports directly to the Director, Global Event Management and is based in Long Island City, NY and/or Boston with flexibility for remote location within the United States. Principal
Responsibilities: Consult with internal clients to identify purpose and parameters of the meeting/event, expectations and desired outcomes.Develop budgets, track expenses and reconcile invoices - complete financial accountability.Source, recommend appropriate venues and suppliers - including hotels, destination management companies, d cor companies, entertainment providers, etc.Plan and operate site inspection trips, as needed.Negotiate vendor contracts to ensure maximum cost savings as well as favorable terms and conditions.Work within internal administrative systems - contract reviews with Legal Department, budget approval systems, data entry related to programs, etc.Create detailed logistical documents for vendors and staff.Travel, both domestic and international, to manage and staff programs on-site.Lead a team - supporting planners, registration and reporting experts, internal clients and vendors - during the planning process through program operation and completion.Spearhead and/or collaborate on special projects to enhance the effectiveness of the department. Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, English, Sociology, Psychology, Art & Design, Marketing, Communications, Travel Management, or Hospitality as well as any other related field of expertise.7
years of experience as a meeting planner within a fast paced corporate environment.2
years of International planning experience.3
years of experience MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).5
years of experience sourcing, negotiating and contract experience.Ability to travel 30% to 50% (US and International). Preferred: Knowledge of International protocol and culture.Professional meeting planning certification.Familiarity with CVent and Access database.Foreign language skills (preference for Spanish, Japanese language skills).Personal integrity, initiative, leadership qualities and the ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy.Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with proven ability to build and maintain relationships.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and events while maintaining high quality standards.Ability to develop and maintain credibility with internal clients and vendor partners.Ability to solve problems independently.Ability to lead a team to produce positive results.Strategic thinker with solid business acumen.Experienced at communicating with Senior Management.Hotel operations and destination management.Production and audio visual logistics and knowledge.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
