The Development Programs Chief Manufacturing Engineer will manage the Manufacturing Engineering interface with all Development programs or Advanced Programs (commercial and military) and will support the respective Integrated Program Management Teams (IPMT). The Chief ME is responsible to ensure proper execution of the IPD (Integrated Program Development) process by ensuring that producibility risks associated with the product and process design from system level down to the part level are identified, assessed, mitigated and tracked uniformly across teams. The Chief ME will lead the implementation of the new initiatives that have been identified as part of the Manufacturing Readiness initiative. Specifically this person will provide change management leadership within the ME discipline that will support the incorporation of the new Producibility Assessment tool, as well as the use of Design to Cost / Make to Cost (DTC/MTC), and early identification of risk parts that will be governed by UPPAP. This role will also assure that ME resources are assigned early in programs during the Conceptual design phase.The Chief ME will ensure that Technology Maturity Plans include adequate identification and mitigation of producibility and manufacturing readiness risk. The Chief ME will assist IPTs and Supply Management by evaluating capability of potential sources and ensure sourcing strategies align producer capability with design requirements. The Chief will work closely with the Supply Chain Management Lead and assure that the One Company NPI sourcing process is implemented successfully.The Chief ME will participate in identification of cost drivers in part designs assembly and assist in developing realistic and achievable plans to meet cost targets that are adequately funded. The Chief ME will support all design and manufacturing readiness reviews (TBR, CoDR, PDR, CDR) to ensure that manufacturing risks are identified and mitigated in order to achieve effective outcomes. In this assignment candidate will participate in Producibility Assessments. Mfg Risk Assessments, Mfg Readiness Assessment (MRL), Design-To-Cost (DTC), Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and Production Part Approval Process (UPPAP). This position will also coordinate the deployment of Manufacturing Technical Resources into the supply chain as necessary to support Manufacturing Risk Assessments, the implementation of UPPAP (as required), and the resolution of technical issues in the shop or at suppliers.
Business Unit: SikorskyEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
