Site Overview
Custom Division's Georgia contract manufacturing plant is located conveniently in Gainesville with 300,000 square feet of production space. The facility runs 24 hours at 5 days a week and is registered and compliant with the FDA, EPA, & cGMP. The facility manufactures salon and haircare, personal care and OTC, and high end fragrances.
Position Overview
The Chemical Blending Manager oversees KIK Gainesville's liquid blending and batch processing operations. This hands on leader supervises a team of 20
employees to ensuring compounding schedules are completed within specifications and coincide with the needs of the production department. Ideal candidate has 5 to 10
years in liquid chemicals blending and experience in the personal care, HBA or OTC manufacturing industry.
Coordinate all compounding/processing activities
Supervise all chemical compounding, pre-weigh, hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage/shipment & tank farm operations.
Manages departmental budget.
Responsible for continuous improvement activities in the department by optimizing existing processes, procedures and batching instructions. Evaluate, design and install process systems that will improve compounding capability and productivity.
Develop, implement and improve procedures to prevent compounding or material handling errors.
Collaborates with QA Department in investigating batching errors and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Accountable for usage reporting of chemical raw material (bulk and non-bulk) and finished bulk product.
Manages and plans processing teams' work schedule to ensure support of production lines across all shifts
Bachelor's Degree in a Technical discipline. Engineering, or Sciences is preferred
5 to 10
years in liquids / chemicals blending. personal care, HBA or OTC type products
Collaborative leadership style, able to work effectively with all levels of plant leadership and plant employees
Must have strong knowledge of blending equipment, batch making, vessels, (e.g. jacketed tanks that are heating and cooling capable, load cells, etc), cycle times, documentation and compliance
Knowledge of Quality Standards and experience in liquids product packaging standards, (TPP & FDA) cGMP regulations
Must be results oriented with good Excel skills
