Site Mechanical Manager - Project Construction
Position Responsibilities (key duties, scope of position, goals, expectations, skill requirements, travel requirements):
This position reports to the Construction Manager and will terminate at the end of the Construction Project estimated to be in the 4th quarter of 2016.
The Site Mechanical Manager - Project Construction is responsible for:
Knowledge and involvement in safety oversight of General Contractors and their subcontractors to ensure compliance with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations, Holcim safety and health standards, and contractual agreements.
Resident Leader at the project site responsible for the management of all mechanical erection activities in connection with the Holcim Ada Cement Plant Modernization Project in Ada, OK. Monitors installations to verify compliance with safety, schedule, quality, applicable codes, costs, and other contractual requirements.
Reports to the Manager Project Construction and manages the activities of all other mechanical coordinators assigned to the project.
Applies cement plant construction and maintenance experience to influence plant design towards reduced plant costs and increased plant availability.
Cooperates and supports Manager Engineering at the Supplier offices to assure project standards and Codes are being applied and implemented during the design phase.
Provides leadership and is the principal liaison with the Engineering Design Firm and General Contractor for the resolution and clarification of all technical and contractual issues related to mechanical portions of the construction contract.
Assists with the interface and flow of information between the Engineering Design Firm, the General Contractor, Subcontractors, and Company personnel.
Coordinates the General Contractor(s), other contractors project construction activities and operating plant to minimize or eliminate interferences.
Leads the final inspection and acceptance activities and participates in the coordination and verification of dry-runs, start-up and commissioning activities relating to mechanical systems.
Ensures successful transfer of mechanical equipment to operations including equipment specification documentation for the creation of effective condition-based, predictive and preventative maintenance systems.
Education Criteria:
Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or related field with Professional Engineer registration strongly desired. Strong project management skills as demonstrated by 10 years heavy industrial project experience with successful demonstrated results.
