## Position Description
Introduction: The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Signal and Image Processing Engineer.
Job
Summary: Provide signal and image processing solutions related to multiple domains in support of Undersea Warfare applications.
Duties :
1. Engineering design, investigation and improvement. Involvement with algorithm development and delivery for integration to tactical systems. (40%)
2. Laboratory level algorithm evaluation, involving significant amounts of measured data, to provide sponsors with independent assessments of algorithm performance. (40%)
3. Documentation and presentation of results. (20%)

## Qualifications
Required Qualifications: BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related discipline with at least one year of relevant experience gained professionally or via academic pursuits. Interest in advanced classification techniques. Interest in advanced signal and image processing techniques. Strong demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Qualifications: MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related discipline with 1 o 2 years of relevant professional experience. Machine Learning experience.
Special Working Conditions: Some travel (including by air) to support sponsor interactions, working group meetings and participation in field tests at shore sites or onboard Navy vessels; working closed areas will be required on a regular basis.
Security: Secret Clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for a NAC/LAC (National Agency Check/Local Agency Check) and access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.
