About the Position: This position is located in the US Army, Tank-Automotive and Armaments CM ILSC, Field Support Operations Fleet Management Expansion, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Valid State Driver's License is required. Pre-Employment Physical is required. This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Program. Position requires a Class A CDL within 6 mos of entry into position.
Consults with higher grade workers on unusual problems.
Assists higher grade mechanics on the more complex repairs.
Operate a variety of Government vehicles to include light trucks and other vehicles weighing up to and including 5 tons on highways, both on and off the installation.
Tests, disassembles, cleans, repairs or replaces parts, reassembles and function tests fuel and electrical systems and components.
Performs the full range of repair and service work on tactical, non-tactical and commercial vehicles etc.
Follows technical manuals and specifications in making repairs and adjustments.

Screen Out Element: Your resume must demonstrates experience performing the common task associated with the duties of a Automotive Worker without more than normal supervision performing: Repairing and performing service work on tactical, non-tactical and commercial vehicles, material handling equipment and trailers. Follows technical manuals and specifications in making repairs and adjustments. Tests, disassembles, cleans, repairs or replaces parts, reassembles and function tests fuel and electrical systems and components. Operates a government vehicle to accomplish receipt and/or turn-in of property. Failure to meet this screen out element will result in an ineligible rating.

Troubleshooting
Physical effort: Makes repairs while the vehicle is overhead, and where the parts worked on are in hard-to-reach places. Is required to stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts parts and equipment that weight up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries items that weight 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Most work is done inside where it is drafty and noisy, and fumes from vehicle are usually present. Frequently stands on hard surfaces for long periods of time. Crawls under vehicle and make repairs while on hard, usually damp surfaces. Occasionally performs repairs outside, sometimes in bad weather. Dirt, dust and grease are always present. Vehicle fluids, such as batter acids and hydraulics fluids, may cause burns or irritate skin. Frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, bruises, shocks, burns, strains. Follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses, and respirator.
