Project Manager - IT
Lewis Fowler is seeking a Project Manager to be responsible for all aspects of project management within the assigned IT team. Responsibilities include project management of; requirements definition, plan development, communication, resource monitoring, project tracking/reporting, budget management, and risk management. This role takes projects from initial conceptual development, through planning, execution and successful conclusion, on time, within budget and with high quality. They must be able to work independently and with stakeholders at all levels to achieve project objectives. The Project Manager must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Responsibilities:
Develop and monitor adherence to project plans, resources and schedules in conjunction with team members
Manages the status of day-to-day support and maintenance activities
Works with IT Management to assign resources and manage priorities
Communicates issues and status with business teams, considering project dependencies
Partners with business customers to understand needs, gather requirements, resolve issues, communicate status, and jointly plan initiatives
Works with business partners to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiencies where possible
Determine resource requirements and work with managers to allocate appropriate resources to projects based on plans
Apply appropriate levels of project management processes and tools to effectively manage assigned projects
Prepare regular status reports and other communications to internal and external stakeholders. Take responsibility for generation and maintenance of project documentation
Organize and manage teams, and facilitate interactions necessary for achievement of project goals
Resolve conflicts among team members or between teams/functions as required
Drive risk and issue management and escalation throughout the life of the project
Take responsibility for adherence to quality standards and procedures
Direct teams in preparing and hosting kickoff meetings, project reviews, and other review processes at key points in the project
Identify resource and other constraints in achieving project objectives - develop mitigation approaches
Concurrently manages numerous projects and initiatives
Mentor project leads and assist in their growth to become strong project managers
Required Skills:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or appropriate combination of education and experience in Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Background in IT Project Management, with excellent leadership skills
Proven ability to manage projects from inception to successful implementation
Minimum of 3 years previous experience managing projects ranging from simple to complex, including projects with several sub-teams
Experience managing custom software projects and packaged software projects
Ability to coordinate projects and teams not geographically co-located
Demonstrated ability to own success of projects and to instill a sense of individual ownership for project success in all team members
Ability to work within deadlines and with multiple priorities; ability to adapt to changing priorities
Orientation to teamwork and achievement of company and departmental goals.
Use of Project Management tools such as MS Project
Healthcare IT experience is a plus
PMP or other comparable project management certification is preferred
