Field Support Engineer

Position Overview:
Candidate will be part of a team providing maintenance support to a fielded system. System architecture is Client-Server based and consists of COTS products as well as custom development. Candidate should have experience in installing and configuring COTS products, documenting installation procedures, installing system upgrades, and integrating COTS products to meet system requirements. Candidate should have experience building a system to meet requirements, testing a system to verify requirements, diagnosing problems that occur in an operational system, and working with and leading other team members and the customer community to define solutions.
Candidate should have experience working in a lab environment, applying STIGs, utilizing test tools and defect tracking tools such as Clearquest, requirements tracking tools such as DOORS, and have some experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Shell. Candidate should have some familiarity with the software development lifecycle and with development methodologies such as Agile.
Subject matter expertise in the Red Hat Linux operating system and/or the Red Hat Linux Certificate Systems product is a plus. Prior experience working with 90 Meter products is a plus. Familiarity with PKI or key management is a plus.
Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well in an environment with close customer scrutiny.
Must be able to obtain a TS clearance within one year.
While most work will be performed in Needham, MA, there will be occasional travel to customer sites elsewhere in the US.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or the equivalent experience is required. Advanced degree preferred. In addition, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, 12 years are preferred.
Must be able to travel 5% of the time.
Applicant must be a US Citizen.
Must be capable of obtaining a Security Clearance
