Job Summary Maintenance technicians will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company
Essential Functions Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on enfines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Determines changes in dimensional requireents of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straighthedges. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, adn supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Reports to supervisor any known downtime events or occurrences that could involve the need for maintenance resources. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actins, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Associates degree in related field; or high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years proven experience
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Language Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed byt uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Job Demands: Ability to communicate one-on-one and to groups to explain policies and procedures to persuade tother to accept or adopt a specific opinion or action. Physically mobile with reasonable accomodations including ability to lift up to 50lbs, and ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack,crouch, kneel, adn balance while stocking, storing, and maneuvering around the work area. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. Forklift experience preferred, but will train.
