These community-based units provide short-term therapeutic psychiatric/substance abuse treatment in a structured environment with 24-hour observation and supervision and individualized treatment interventions focused on the crisis and crisis resolution.
CSU accepts referrals from the community as well as other area inpatient facilities or Emergency Departments with an evaluation and client history completed by a qualified clinician prior to admission.
CSU may be used as a /diversion/ to prevent a hospitalization or as a s/tep-down/ immediately following a psychiatric hospital discharge to assist the client in transitioning back into the community. The unit receives admissions 24 hours/day, 365 days/year depending on bed availability for clients who do not need hospital level of care and meet the unit's admission criteria.
The population includes both males and females that are at least 18 years of age
Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Demonstrate an ability to develop respectful interpersonal relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Demonstrate outstanding communication skills.
Assist with intake processes.
Provide supervision for clients while on unit.
Transport clients to and from appointments as required.
Assist clients and DMH case managers with researching placement and benefit options.
Assist clients and DMH case managers with applying for and securing housing and benefits.
Assist with and contribute to multi-disciplinary planning.
Valid MA driver's license and personal vehicle available for use
Bachelor's degree with course work in psychology, sociology, social work, or related field required.
Previous experience working with clients in human services, mental illness or dual diagnosis
Proven ability to work within team setting and to act as self-starter
Must be committed to providing quality care

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
