For this role, we are able to hire entry level, senior (5+years) or principal (10+years) This position is responsible for the specification, design, and implementation of machine vision and control systems for new and existing high-speed lamp manufacturing equipment, in compliance with company, national, and international standards. The successful candidate will. Develop and install new/enhanced machine vision & control systems while working well with other engineering disciplines on cross-functional teams for projects of varying complexity and scale. Assist with difficult troubleshooting on new and existing vision and control systems. Evaluate and propose upgrade paths for obsolete equipment. Document and train associates on the use and support of new and pre-existing systems. Coordinate and direct technicians as required. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and 6-Sigma techniques
Qualifications Entry Engineer level-
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science or equivalent. Software experience required: Visual Basic/VB.NET (Visual Studio) or C/C++. Skills using CAD tools, Microsoft Suite of software.
The desire to stay knowledgeable in the of latest industrial automation technology.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret and write technical specifications. Understand the concepts of applying automated control systems in a manufacturing environment. Experience with integrating industrial robotics with vision guidance strongly preferred.
Experience with PLC-based controls systems strongly preferred.
Experience with Ethernet based industrial device communication preferred. In addition, at the Sr. Engineer level-.Requires at least 5 years relevant experience, with an in-depth knowledge of applying machine vision technology in a manufacturing environment for: on-line and off-line inspection, vision controlled positioning, defect analysis, and optical character verification. Working knowledge of applying machine vision technology in a manufacturing environment for: on-line and off-line inspection, vision controlled positioning, defect analysis, and optical character verification. Working knowledge of machine vision system illumination, optics, cameras and vision software development software platforms
Successful integration of PLC-based controls systems and industrial robotics with machine vision.
Experience with PLC software strongly preferred. Successful experience in project planning and tracking. In addition, at the Principal Engineer level-.Requires at least 10 years relevant experience, with an in-depth knowledge of applying machine vision technology in a manufacturing environment for: on-line and off-line inspection, vision controlled positioning, defect analysis, and optical character verification. In-depth knowledge and experience with machine vision systems development and implementation with one of the following vision development software platforms: PCI-Video, Cognex/DVT, Sherlock Vision or equivalent. Successful integration of PLC-based controls systems and industrial robotics with machine vision.
Extensive experience of successful integration of machine vision with PLC-based controls systems and industrial robotics.
Successful experiences in project leadership.
