Gift Officer - The Seeing Eye, Inc. The Seeing Eye, the world renowned guide dog school in Morristown, New Jersey, is seeking a confident self-starter with a talent for asking for significant donor gifts. The successful job candidate will have the ability to develop innovative ask strategies, build long term relationships with sophisticated donors, and achieve gifts of $5,000 or more. This individual must be a persuasive writer and speaker and possess a demeanor that is welcoming and professional with an evident passion for The Seeing Eye mission. The successful candidate must have a Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university and ten plus years of demonstrated success in soliciting and cultivating gifts, or equivalent experience in sales or other revenue generating positions, as well as strong time management skills, a demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, and proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 (proficiency with Raisers Edge is also desirable). An experienced traveler is essential for this position as there will be frequent day trips throughout the tri-state area and multi-day trips around North America. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
