Engineering Laboratory Technician III, Chandler, AZ
Cinder Solutions is looking for a solid Laboratory Technician to fill a position for one of our direct clients in Chandler, AZ. This is a full time, 40 an hour a week position that includes a full competitive benefits package with PTO and healthcare coverage.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will join one of our clients' teams in Chandler, AZ in a bench debug lab environment to test high speed PHYs such as PCIe, SATA, and SAS.
The candidate will work in a team environment with specific responsibilities related to running a test bench consisting of test boards, high speed test equipment, and bench PCs.
Additionally the successful candidate will need to understand and work through test plans, make quality measurements, and be able to debug test setup issues.
Daily
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will use X-section, delayering/planar grinding of substrates/packages.
- Evaluate, fabricate, and set-up test specimens in various specially designed test frames based on written documentation from the lab manager, lab engineers, or other engineers within the department.
- Evaluate and fabricate prototype building components with very little written documentation or direction. The Laboratory Technician is a key member of any team tasked to evaluate proof of concept.
- Evaluate, fabricate, and set-up specialty test fixtures based on written documentation from the lab manager, lab engineers or other engineers within the department.
- Evaluate, fabricate, and set-up specialty test fixtures with very little written documentation or direction when project timelines demand expedited service.
- Directly responsible for the cleanliness and organization of materials within the laboratory environment.
Required Skills:
- Communication skills, specifically interacting with Design and Test Engineers to use high performance measurement equipment, SW, and to understand Technical concepts.
- Ability to use bench test equipment and follow a test plan to make high precision measurements.
- Ability to methodically and logically work through test setup issues and resolve them.
- Basic solder and board modification skills.
- Organizational skills to support lab structure and day to day maintenance routines as needed.
- Experience using optical microscope for inspection and measurement
- Ability to use Excel and PowerPoint on a day-to day basis
- Ability to communicate findings verbally and through reports to yield engineers, LYA analysts, and other requestors as needed.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner with a variety of different individuals in a fast paced, technical environment.
- Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous environment where changing priorities are the norm.
- Organized and detail orientated
- Prior experience working with optical connector/interfaces
- Quick learner and is good following instructions and make quality measurements
- Great interpersonal skills
- Good verbal and written communication
