## Description/Job Summary
_Position Opening in Georgetown Processing Plant_
Boiler & Refrigeration Operator Trainee
ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
Purpose: To operate safely and efficiently the ammonia refrigeration system and related equipment according to the plant Process Safety Management Program.
Tools: Must supply own hand tools necessary to operate system and perform preventive maintenance operations.
Scope: 1. Must be able to operate all refrigeration systems in the plant.
2. Must be able to do all startups, shutdowns and defrost procedures on all plant refrigeration systems.
3. Must be able to control the function of all refrigeration systems in the plant (area temperatures, water temperature, ice production, etc.)
4. Must be able to perform all operational procedures:
A. Rounds B. Oil Draining C. Oil adding D. Posting all logs.
5. Must be able to do all emergency shutdowns and startups, reset & restart equipment and put all systems back on line.
6. Must be trained on all refrigeration sop's.
7. Must have a clear understanding of the relationship between pressure and temperature in a refrigeration system.
8. Must understand heat transfer in a refrigeration system.
9. Must be able to do all PM procedures in refrigeration.
10. Must be qualified to do auger maintenance.
11. Perform tasks as assigned by Management.
12. Working knowledge of departmental PC's.
1. Perform maintenance activities such as bearings and belt placements, coupling alignment, etc.
The following skills should be learned and mastered while performing at the Operator Trainee level. To understand and properly perform the following tasks:
1. Complete the Refrigeration Personnel Initial Training.
2. Complete all HAZWOPER Training Requirements; identify and correct any process deviation.
3. Correctly interpret P&IDs.;
4. Attend outside schooling on Refrigeration Operations or complete the IIAR, Basic Ammonia Refrigeration Series
5. Perform PM inspections.
6. Proper operation and PM of other related equipment such as boilers, air compressor, ventilation systems, etc.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to do shop math and be able to interpret drawings. Vocational/Technical school completion or equivalent training or year's practical experience required.
To be eligible for consideration, Perdue associate candidates cannot have more than 2 unexcused absences, 0 active disciplinary actions and be in their current position for a minimum of 6 months.
