The basic function of this role is to minimize total cost by maximizing work force and resource capabilities through prioritizing, planning and scoping of maintenance work orders. The Maintenance Planner/Coordinator will co-lead backlog review and prioritization activities along with the maintenance supervisors. The planner/coordinator will develop a work scope, and assemble job planning packages for SAP work orders to: estimate cost related to labor, materials, equipment and special tool requirements to complete the job in a safe and cost-effective manner.
This will include but not be limited to:
Work closely with maintenance supervisors to level work force requirements at the Port Arthur, Texas and Westlake, LA sites. Based at the Port Arthur site.
Coordinate the review of work backlog with production and maintenance personnel to insure that all work is appropriately prioritized, planned, scheduled and executed.
Provide detailed job plans as required on general and outage maintenance activities.
Monitor SAP Order activities to insure proper and timely updates and closures on Notifications/Orders to keep the system robust.
Provide planning and leadership support during planned /unplanned outages/turnarounds.
Create and receive requisitions for parts and external maintenance services as required.
Support the preparation of bid documents as necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma with preferred relative technical school or college degree. Relative experience will be given strong consideration in lieu of formal education.
- Five (5) plus years experience in the petrochemical & manufacturing industry. Prior planning & estimating experience is a plus.
- Self-starter with a solid work history and excellent references along with the ability to work in a team oriented environment.

1) Well versed in Chemical, Petrochemical equipment & Specifications.
2) Computer & problem solving skills.
3) Knowledge of the Maintenance work process.
4) Strong organizational & people skill.
5) Passion for driving work and organization excellence.
6) Planning Tools and associated software.
7) Strong resource scheduling and coordinating skills.
8) Strong oral & written communication skills.
9) Knowledge of Maintenance software - SAP, Project or Primavera a plus.
10) Ability to multi task and self motivated.
Skills - Technical
1) Review of drawings, specifications, etc., to determine scope of work, required content of estimate, and prepare time and cost estimates, planning preparing bids, and determining whether the work is classified as capital or non-capital.
2) Review the SAP backlog with Production and Maintenance Supervisors/Superintendent to insure that all associated work is planned and materials & equipment are available for work execution.
3) Prepare detailed lists of planned work and discuss with Maintenance Superintendent and Supervisors to schedule maintenance activities.
4) Recommend the following needs for planned activities: contractor, resource, parts and vendors.
5) Coordinate and help manage all contractor work activities on site towards safety, quality and work scope execution.
6) Track cost and coordinates the utilization of equipment, materials & rentals.
