JOB
Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for all base electronic security systems by performing electronic security systems duties and managing all functions necessary to sustain electronic security protection in all areas of the installation.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Connecticut Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Connecticut Air National Guard. AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
Area 2: All current members of the Connecticut Air National Guard and individuals eligible for membership in the Connecticut Air National Guard.
Must meet Compatible Military Assignment within one year from placement. Wear of the military uniform is mandatory. Direct Deposit is mandatory. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
The major duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) program.
Responsible for the management and administration of the physical access control systems (i.e. Defense Biometrics Identification System - DBIDS).
Performs administrative office support functions and develops, coordinates, and publishes all SF installation level publications to include the Installation Security Plan, the Installation Security Instruction, and SF annexes to all installation plans.
Performs installation security duties.
Manages Security Forces Management Information Systems.
GENERAL
Experience: Experience that has provided analytical, decision making, or administrative skills which demonstrates the candidates ability to accomplish the work of an organization. This experience must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and successfully with others.
SPECIALIZED
Experience: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 24 months of specialized experience in the following:
Experience planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling base and law enforcement activities
Experience providing training in areas related to this position
Experience analyzing reports of investigations and maintaining security records
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED
Experience: A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience. The education must have been in fields directly related to Security Administration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of DoD and AF security regulations, instructions, practices, and principles, and procedures including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism, and physical security.
Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems.
Knowledge of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of police dispatch and alarm monitor functions.
Knowledge of AF Electronic Security Sensor systems.
Knowledge of the F Incident Management System and the Security Force Management Information System.
Ability to plan, organize, function in performance of primary duties.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge and understanding of the Air Force (AF), National Guard, and gaining command organizational structure, missions and responsibilities.
Knowledge of SF procedures and operating methods to perform the full range of SF activities independently to include protection level resources, installation entry control, armed response, and dispatch.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
