This Specification defines the job description of the Quality Manager for this automotive parts plant in lower central Alabama.
Responsibilities
Quality Manager is responsible for the (CCC) China Compulsory Certification including application, maintenance and (CCC) standards.
Basic Function:
Guides and directs the Quality Department to assure appropriate procedures are in place that will assure both internal and external customer quality expectations are achieved. Function as the primary point of contact for the Operation in responding to critical Customer issues, Quality Key Measure performances and other Customer Specific initiatives.
Specific Duties:
Works with Engineering on advance quality planning on future programs and ensures that all special characteristics identified during product development are monitored using statistical techniques throughout the manufacturing process.
Supervises and manages Quality Engineers and Quality Support Staff.
Manages complete Quality Reporting system.
Serves as the Management Representative for Quality/BOS. Manages the internal audit schedule for BOS and QS9000. Administers all Quality activities as defined in the BOS and QS9000 standards. Ensure that their plants successfully implement applicable World Class Quality Systems, and are certified / compliant with BOS, QS-9000, VDA 6.1, ISO/TS16949, etc. as appropriate.
Serves as the Management Representative for the Compulsory Certification Standards. The standards to maintained are GB8410-Flammability of Automotive Interior Materials. And the CNCA-02C-060 Implementation Rules for Compulsory Certification of Motor Vehicle Products (Interiors Trimming Material). Revision Levels will be monitored for latest revision levels on web site.
Manages supplier base for both purchased and components. Drive continuous improvement of post S.O.P. Supplier Development and Quality performance. This includes leading the MQR and corrective action processes for Supplier issues.
Ensures that facility maintains calibration on all variable and attribute gauges.
Interface with launch teams and support initiatives.
Complete individual development plans for each member within the Quality Department.
Establishes the criteria guideline for determining incoming inspection frequencies and ensuring that it is conducted.
Provides on-site customer support. Track customers issues, assist teams with problem solving, follow up and provide support on significant issues.
Ensures that a final product audit is conducted to the necessary instructions, frequency and auditors.
Development of Manufacturing Quality Engineering resource budgets and staffing needs, Participate in the interview process and add resources as needed.
Establishes and reviews annual quality improvement plans as well as Business Unit, Plant, or Division operational plans.
Responsible for continuous improvement in quality key measure performance and customer satisfaction for their assigned area, as well as broader indicators such as JD Power, Craftsmanship, and Warranty performance.
Assures adequate staffing and training to execute quality and operational plans.
Other duties as assigned.

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt
Experience Required:
Leadership/management experience

years of experience in Quality or production functions
Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including, at a minimum; ISO/TS16949, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DoE, SPC
Competent in conflict resolution and project management
Full proficiency in basic leadership skills and fundamental quality engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
Able to teach and mentor in advanced statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem solving methodologyEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
