To create value for our advertising customers through building or creatively designing advertisements in a quality-conscious, deadline-oriented manner. Develop effective relationships with the Advertising sales representatives and external clients using a customer-focused, consultative approach. Utilize the technological tools provided to their fullest extent to efficiently achieve these results.

Shift: Monday-Friday/ 7pm-3am

Responsibilities:
To build quality black & white and full color print or on-line advertisements following a customer supplied layout. Utilize proper typography and use of color that meets our advertisers' needs.
To understand and utilize advertising materials and layouts submitted for reproduction while determining they are suitable. When materials are not suitable taking the proper steps to resolve the issues.
To work effectively with salespeople and advertisers to maximize service to accounts. To work well with team members to manage workflow and resolve problems.
To ensure that all ads, art elements and copy are acceptable for quality reproduction.
To proof ads and perform corrections on ads accurately and error free.
To maintain optimum quality when scanning art and working with digital elements.
To prioritize and organize workflow effectively so that all deadlines to internal and external customers are met. To understand requests and preferences of assigned accounts, and to adjust workflow accordingly. To bring late ads and exceptions to manager's attention in a timely fashion.
To participate as a team member by providing ideas, backup support and cross training that facilitates improvement of quality and efficiencies.
To maintain productivity levels set by management.
To utilize the latest technology and resources as they relate to the job responsibilities.
To support the Prepress Mission Statement and comply with all company policies.
To perform other task/duties as dictated by business need or as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

Requires specialized training or equivalent experience in ad composition, advertising design, typography, or graphic design. Must be able to understand what the advertiser is trying to promote with their ad.
Must be able to assist the internal and external customer with consultative skills, offer direction on what an ad should contain, and professionally guide customers toward ad building efficiencies or quality of design.
Experience with desktop publishing applications is required. Must have working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. On-line production experience preferred.
Must have knowledge of color theory, understand how the color process works, and be able to design ads for quality reproduction.
Must be able to understand and utilize print profiles. Must have knowledge of Photoshop, be able to scan halftone and lineart, and be able to correct black and white photos.
Experience with designing advertisements for print publications in a deadline environment is preferred.
Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Must be a team player. Must be willing to cross boundaries, share knowledge, and assist others.
Must be able to work under deadlines and be multi-task oriented in a team environment.
Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be comfortable communicating with any internal or external customer effectively and professionally.
