VI Systems, Inc is looking for experienced PeopleSoft Database Administrators
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Eight years or more experience in database administration. At least five years experience utilizing Oracle relational databases, inclusive of installing, managing, upgrading and supporting relational databases in a complex PeopleSoft and enabling technologies environment. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate strong experience supporting multiple PeopleSoft implementations. Installing, upgrading and supporting Oracle database software and the associated Oracle stack in a multi-tier environment.
Technical Skills:
Oracle Database 11gR2 experience using a majority of these components:
o Real Application Clusters (RAC)
o Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
o Oracle Data Guard
o RMAN
o OEM Grid Control or OEM Cloud Control
o Advanced Security Option
o Database Vault
o Audit Vault
o Advanced Compression
o Database Firewall
o Oracle management packs
o Oracle Partitioning
o PeopleSoft behavior in an IBM AIX 7/1 environment with memory allocation.
Nice to haves:
Understanding of high availability: disaster recovery requirements and solutions.
Knowledge and experience with server and application sizing and capacity planning Experience implementing database security procedures and best practices
Knowledge and experience of performance testing a complex, multi-tiered system
Knowledge and experience with performance tuning; recognizing root cause and recommending workable solutions
Automating routine DBA tasks
Knowledge and experience of Data Masking requirements and routines
Soft Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills is highly desirable. In addition; the ability to mentor others and work very closely with a larger development team of diverse skill-sets is very important.
Education and
Experience:
BS in Computer Science, Electronics, or Software Engineering or equivalent with 5 - 7 years of relevant experience (or) Master's degree with 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
