Our client, a manufacturer in the Greater Springfield area, is looking for a Quality Supervisor.
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading quality initiatives, process control, continuous improvement, resolving quality issues, and ensuring production activities and resources are utilized in alignment with quality specifications, initiatives, and goals.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Supervising QC Techs by planning, directing, and evaluating work, as well as hiring, training, and appraising performance
Monitoring and inspecting the quality of incoming raw material and resolving issues as necessary
Resolving customer and supplier complaints by performing root cause analysis, implementing corrective action, and training employees in new procedures
Monitoring procedures and specifications and ensuring proper understanding and execution
Resolving production problems and maximizing production efficiency by assisting in timely troubleshooting
Assisting QC Manager in determining quality standards and leading implementation of initiatives
Evaluating new raw materials and performing lab and production testing
Developing and writing SOPs, product specifications, test methods and process controls
Assisting and directing QC Techs in timely evaluation and disposition of non-conformances
Assisting and directing QC Techs in timely issuing of Certificates of Analysis
Working closely and in collaboration with all employees to facilitate a positive working environment and continuous improvement
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in technical field from four-year college or university; or five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior experience in quality control and/or quality assurance manufacturing
Proven supervisory experience
Skilled in change and influence management
Strong listening, facilitation and mentoring skills
Ability to work collaborativelywithin diverse groups of professionals
Willingness to be on call after scheduled workday
