We're looking for an experienced marketing and social
media specialist to manage the social media channels for our three travel
websites, Cruise Critic, Family Vacation Critic and IndependentTraveler.com.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent
understanding of social media, experience creating strategic social media
programs, and the ability to track effectiveness in order to refine and develop
social initiatives. This role requires an adept communicator and
marketer, capable of using each channel appropriately and to its full
potential, while maintaining brand consistency for each site.
Responsibilities:
Propose,
develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to leverage both
in-house and other social channels to promote our brands
Create,
manage and grow brand awareness across social media channels, including, but
not limited to Facebook, Twitter, blogs, Pinterest, LinkedIn, youTube and
Instagram
Leverage
our own social communities to become brand evangelists to promote our brands
Manage
day-to-day social media activity, monitor and analyze social activity
Coordinate
with other departments on strategy development and program implementation
Work
with the Brand Manager and PR teams on social components of partnerships and PR
outreach
Identify
new opportunities, propose themes and promotions, develop and source content,
coordinates scheduling across groups
Keep
abreast of new developments for Facebook, and other social channels, to refine
strategy or propose new initiatives
Minimum of five to seven years of experience developing and executing
marketing or public relations programs, including at least two years focused on
social media strategies and campaigns.
Proven experience of managing social media platforms for consumer
brands
Experience in planning and strategizing integrated communications
programs across multiple media channels
Sound understanding of the principals of marketing
Ability to plan and execute effective social media strategies
Knowledge of social media tactics and guidelines
Excellent understanding of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and
other key platforms
Current knowledge of latest developments for existing and new social
platforms
Knowledge of social media analytic tools and evaluation techniques,
ability to assess initiatives and ROI
Degree in marketing, communications or PR preferred
Exceptional communication skills and excellent copywriting
Positive attitude and commitment to the role
Knowledge to interpret business goals and apply them to social media
tactics
Ability to adapt and learn new techniques and technologies
Good attention to detail and quality of work
Ability to work well with team members, other departments and external
clients
Ability to transfer skills to PR and marketing projects, partnerships
and initiatives beyond social media
Passion for travel preferred
