Lead Clinical Lab Scientist

Direct & lead disease related studies. Conduct Research. Oversee functioning of section by monitoring all blood bank testing, quality control & patient results for quality and compliance with standards. Perform routine and special medical laboratory tests. Evaluate validity of results to determine if value is outside expected norms and document and verbally report panic values and critical results to supervisor and appropriate physician. Troubleshoot and calibrate procedures related to each test performed. Responsible for all quality control testing. Prepare statistical, performance and test reports including QA and QC lot changes evaluation. Follow quality control procedures for all tests. Record and chart all completed work using laboratory management information systems. Perform routine preventive maintenance. Maintain & manage logs and other documentation. Oversee & Assist in training and orientation of new CLS and technologists. Follow lab safety policies and procedures including Standard Precautions.
Requires: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, and 5 years Experience in job offered or as CLS/ Medical Technologist or related laboratory or medical scientist occupation; and CA CLS license
