Benefitfocus is seeking the ideal candidate for a Software Engineer with primary responsibilities related to the development of software to extract, transform and load key customer data. The candidate will have a business background in healthcare information systems and expert proficiency using SQL. This position will report to the Manager of Database Engineering and will be located in our Tulsa office.
Job Responsibilities Analyze inbound customer data to determine the optimal methods for incorporation into the Benefitfocus informatics data schema Create, test and implement load programs for integration of customer data Optimize load processing for performance and accuracy Document usage procedures for load processes Validate accuracy and completeness of data Train BI operational personnel on the use and function of load programs Work Environment Position is based in the Benefitfocus, Informatics office, located in the Tulsa, OK suburb of Jenks Typical work hours are 8:00 to 5:00 Central time Certain evening or weekend hours may be necessary based on customer or project requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS Experience, Education and Skills 3 years business experience in health benefits, healthcare provider billing, medical coding or similar industry related to healthcare data management Familiarity with SQL Server and/or Oracle stored procedure development Familiarity with large-volume data import processing with database engines Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel and Word Bachelor Degree in MIS, CS, Engineering, Finance or a related field Benefitfocus has experienced outstanding growth by delivering the best technology available, providing world-class customer service, and operating a financially responsible company.
