Summary:
The Associate Category Advisor is responsible for supporting the category management and insights initiatives for Walmart. This position develops and manages reports for Point of Sale (POS), Customer Sales, Cost of Sales, and Performance Scorecards to evaluate the achievement of annual business objectives. The ideal candidate will spend significant time analyzing these reports to identify various causal factors impacting sales and providing recommendations to management based on those findings.
Essential Functions:
Support Category Manager through Line Review process by assisting with category and item analysis, identifying space to sales opportunities, new product placement, modular development and sample coordination.
Monitor, evaluate and report category results using RetailLink weekly scorecard to Walmart and Bell Team.
Proactively and as scheduled identify and communicate insights, opportunities and risks to the category team.
Familiarization of retail competitive landscape on a weekly basis. Summarize findings and share accordingly with Walmart, Category and Sales team.
Conducts promotional and advertisement analysis on an ongoing basis to present to Category Manager and Walmart.
Develop and maintain category ad-hoc, weekly, and monthly reports.
Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key customer contacts.
Utilize Retail Link and Syndicated data systems to gather and review information daily.
Analyze data, formulate recommendations, create presentations and present action plans to customer to achieve desired business results.
Cross analyze multiple planogram/item mix combinations to ensure productive modular management.
Maintain modular set at Walmart Layout Center.
Effectively and professionally communicate with all suppliers in category as needed.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
AA degree or 2 years of college preferable
3-5 years of experience in analyzing and interpreting data
2
years of Retail Link experience
Knowledge of shelf space planning software, preferably JDA ProSpace
Demonstrated ability in PC-based applications (Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with emphasis on Advanced Excel Pivot Tables.

Strong research skills. Ability to interpret and make sense out of a wide range of complex data, and creating actionable findings.
A Self-starter, who takes initiative and demonstrates personal accountability.
Shiloh experience is a plus.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
