Senior Site Reliability Engineer needed for a direct hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Palo Alto, CA.
Top Skills You Should Possess:
- LAMP Stack
- Nagios, Graphite
- Puppet
What You'll Be Doing:
- You'll be monitoring our systems to ensure health and scalability in a fast paced environment.
- You'll deal with application and network level problem-solving and automating solutions.
- You'll handle development, application stack, and network level issues
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Four (4) or more years of relevant experience in technical operations and additional exposure to tool/product development
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux, performance tuning concepts, and Web applications
- Ideal candidate will possess a broad range of computer science skills
- Solid knowledge of MySQL and Redis
- Must have knowledge of Shell Scripting, Python, and/or PHP (at least 2 of these)
- Solid knowledge in monitoring tools such Nagios, Cacti, Graphite
- Passionate about instrumentation
- Experience in automation with Puppet
- The candidate must be persistent, results oriented, and a self-starter
- Ability to participate in on-call rotations and perform off hour maintenance activities
Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or relevant experience
- Experience with high-volume websites is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to write, bugs, test cases, problem reports
- Ability to rapidly learn and assimilate knowledge of complex software and systems, and apply understanding of system architecture when planning operational tasks and strategy
- Demonstrable experience in one or more languages, eg, C, LUA or Erlang
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, SMTP, HTTP, highly available network Servers
- Experience in stress-testing
