Incumbent will be assigned to the outpatient Surgical Section of the Manchester VAMC under the direct supervision of the Chief of Surgery.
Provide non-interventional and interventional pain management services at the VAMC.
Perform medical procedures.
Work closely with the Primary Care Providers by overseeing the patient's pain management needs.
Provide ongoing medication management within the pain clinic.
Responsible for administration of anesthesia for Operating Room cases.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Current, full and unrestricted license as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current certification by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
Degree of in nursing from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
GRADE DETERMINATIONS:
Applicant's education, length of practice will be considered by a Nurse compensation panel in recommending salary of the applicant selected.

The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs.
