Excellent opportunity for a motivated electrical or mechanical engineer with a good knowledge of product safety and hazardous locations compliance. As a key member of product development teams, this individual ensures that appropriate regulatory and safety requirements are incorporated into product designs and specifications. Prepares and manages product submissions to global regulatory authorities for approval. Prepares and manages product construction reports and technical files. Updates mechanical drawings as needed to reflect safety parameters. Schedules and coordinates third-party safety engineering investigations. Hosts periodic third-party follow-up inspections and coordinates any necessary corrective actions.
Responsibilities
Assessment of equipment for certification against published standards.
Provide advice to design engineers as appropriate.
Prepares and manages product submissions to global regulatory agencies.
Prepares and manages product construction reports and technical files.
Hosts periodic third-party follow-up inspections and coordinates any necessary corrective action.
Strong written and oral communication skills;
Proficiency with standard workplace software (MS Office, Agile, etc)
Proficiency with Unigraphics and Ansys a huge plus
Working knowledge in product certification IEC/EN 60079 series standards.
Working knowledge in certification to CSA and FM standards, IEC 61010 or IEC/EN 60079 is highly desirable.
Working knowledge inPressure Equipment Directive(ATEX).
Working knowledge in Canadian Registration Number (CRN).
