Working directly with Manufacturing, Engineering and reporting to Business Unit Manager, create quality management system and control plan which will Identify, Document and Eliminate causes of non-conformities or other undesirable situations.
Must also be capable of performing the following:
Act as primary contact for customer complaints; determine unacceptable levels of product non-conformance or unstable trends in process monitoring. Document and report all major issues to manufacturing, engineering and upper management.
Develop and execute independent procedures that are used together for checking that parts and systems meet requirements and specifications and that they fulfill intended purposes.
Ensure that company can meet the manufacturability and quality requirements; provide evidence that the customer engineering design record and specification requirements are clearly understood; demonstrate to customers that company manufacturing processes can produce their parts consistently within specifications.
Oversee the use of 3-axis manually controlled and computer controlled Coordinate Measuring Machines with mechanical, optical, laser, and white light probes.
Study, analyze and report on the behavior of gauges with particular respect to: Repeatability; Reproducibility; Stability and Bias.
Determine if instruments and gauges exhibit different levels of precision or produce different results during environmental changes.
For each product shall ensure that: A process owner is assigned; The exact and full process is defined and documented; Process linkages are determined, analyzed and spoken for; Process is monitored, analyzed and improved; and Proper and accurate records are maintained.
Areas of responsibility or oversight include: Design Records; Authorized Engineering Change Documents; Engineering Approval; Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis; Process Flow Diagrams; Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis; Control Plan; Measurement System Analysis Studies; Dimensional Results; Records of Material and Performance Tests; Initial Sample Inspection Reports and Process Studies; Qualified Laboratory Documentation; Appearance Approval Reports; Sample Production Parts; Master Samples; Checking Aids; Customer-Specific Requirements; and Part Submission Warrants.
