The Software Engineer is responsible to: Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications/operating systems and participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
Major Responsibilities
Gather LIMS requirements from end users.
Assist in writing functional specification documents.
Work with project teams to design, develop and deploy Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software to clients.
Document and support existing client LIMS installations.
Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by supervisor.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 3 years experience as a software engineer
Strong working knowledge of Java & J2EE, JSP, SQL, Eclipse, Oracle, MySQL
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Well-organized individual with an entrepreneurial spirit
Must be willing to travel periodically
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
Experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is a plus
Experience with LIMS is a major plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
