TASC is seeking a Research & Engineering Database Administrator & SharePoint Specialist to work in Lorton, VA.A qualified will provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS;) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Nuclear Technologies Department. The qualified candidate will enter research and engineering program data, and contracting and financial data into the Unified Research and Engineering Database (URED). The candidate will develop and maintain the Microsoft SharePoint web portal for the Department in support of strategic communications efforts. URED will involve 75% of this full-time effort during the first 2 months of employment and will require 50% of full-time effort in the long term. This full-time position requires attention to detail and familiarity with DoD contracting documents and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic work environment to perform the following duties:
Receive Department-level research and engineering program data, and contracting and financial documents, and use such primary sources to populate a Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) Research Summary (RS) form in URED.
Use other resources to obtain data for the RS form, to include contacting persons associated with the contract/project and searching the databases of DTIC and Defense Threat Reduction Information Analysis Center (DTRIAC).
Update/maintain RS Records as needed to report changes and progress on any given contract.
Maintain the integrity of the Research Summary database through proactive resolution of duplicate RS records, reconciling the differences, eliminating any other duplicate record, and reusing the accession number generated.
Manage initial input of 2013 contracting and financial URED and oversee the quarterly update process for capturing future data.
Perform a quality review of previously entered data and work with program managers and contracting staff to correct outdated records.
Support Department Strategic Communications efforts through the development, maintenance and update of the Department SharePoint website, and through the active tracking and management of the Department briefings library.
Active/current Secret clearance or ability to be granted one is required.
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of two years of experience using database management systems, has the ability to translate data from one record to another record, for example from a Word document into Excel spreadsheet, has the ability to compare sets of data and can perform tasks with an extreme level of accuracy.
Proven data entry skills and must be adaptable to new products, systems, apps and database tools.
Must have a mastery of Microsoft SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Publisher and Access, as well as mastery of Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Must have proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills and ability to analyze all cross-functional processes and suggest effective solutions.
Must display outstanding communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
Must be highly organized, self-motivated, with the ability to pay attention to detail and has the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic work environment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
