Our client is needing a Senior Cognos BI Developer for a Full Time position near Gardena, CA.
Those authorized to work in the US without sponsorship will be considered. Client is not able to sponsor at this time.
The Cognos BI Developer will work closely with cross-functional business teams to design and develop corporate BI capabilities including ad-hoc reports, OLAP, dashboards, and scorecards. The position will also be responsible for working with the System Administrator to monitor/support the daily operations of the Cognos infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Develop Data Mart Design
Develop Framework model(s)
Architect Cognos solutions to integrate new data sources
Create packages, cubes, perform load testing
BI data modeling, Cognos dashboards and complex reports working with the business customers
Develop strategies for converting existing reports to Cognos BI
Serve as a lead reporting technical resource and support all reporting activities
Load testing of Cognos environment
Integrating Cognos with Active Directory
User administration for security
Make appropriate recommendations on enhancements to Business Intelligence System.
Perform Business Analyst functions as a liaison between the business users and Information Technology group
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, related field (certification in a relevant discipline)
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cognos (Transformer/Report Studio/ Analysis Studio)
Sound knowledge in Relational and OLAP concepts and methodologies.
Exposure to Testing methodologies, creating test plan, test cases and various methods of testing.
Experience with data warehousing/database concepts
Hands-on experience administering, deploying and maintaining models, reports, and cubes
Experience with JD Edwards files and table structures
Adept in using performance tuning and optimization techniques to troubleshoot reporting issues
Knowledge of Cognos Security using Active Directory
Experience with a manufacturing company and supply chain.
Experience in administration and configuration of Cognos Application Servers, Content Manager, Gateway and Transformer
Strong Oral and written communications skills
Ability to develop and communicate training packages for knowledge transferEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
