The Benefits Consultant (BC) is responsible for the day to day client management for both fully-insured and self-funded clients, with emphasis on the large market segment. The BC analyzes and advises business owners on overall employee benefits, including health insurance, ancillary insurance, regulations, and develops relationships through service, technical expertise and personal interaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.
Establish and maintain strong, working relationships with clients to create a trusted advisor relationship.
Accountable for the maintenance, growth and increased profitability of existing business, the acquisition of new business on existing accounts, customer satisfaction, and the strategic direction of assigned accounts.
Consult, develop and present the implementation and execution of client-specific strategies, goals and objectives. Analyze the client's current situation to identify opportunities to implement CPI-HR's other services including Benefit Administration and Payroll.
Handle renewal planning and implementation to ensure client timeframes are met. Develop and execute RFP renewal strategies necessary for successful renewals and ensure alignment with direction of the client's strategic objectives.
Responsible for all client deliverables which will include: technical consulting advice; customer service; implementation of programs; all communication and educational programs and materials; and compliance services.
Manage a client calendar and provide Action Revenue Reports and other reporting needed by management.
Assists Benefits Analysts with proposals, presentations and elevated service issues, ensuring resolution, and communication to client.
Influence superior customer service delivery by developing and maintaining carrier relationships.
Maintains strong knowledge of health benefit industry knowledge, PPACA expertise, areas of compliance as well as client's industry trends.
Establishes and maintains long term networking relationships and centers of influence through active involvement and participation in business, social, community and political arenas, boards, or activities.
Assists management team in the execution of CPI's Strategic Business Plan
Requirements
Education - Bachelors degree
Experience - 5-7 years of experience managing large health plan accounts
License - Ohio Life and Health Insurance
Other Skills/Competencies Desired
Knowledge of medical products, ancillary products, pricing and funding arrangements, Health Care Reform
Strong consultative, negotiation and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Must have a positive attitude, strong aptitude for client service, and confidence.
Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure against time deadlines

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
