The global Finance Function acts as a proactive business partner, advising and making recommendations based upon financial projections and historical performance. Finance also provides financial expertise companywide and ensures accurate and efficient transaction processing
Purpose of the Position:
This global finance role will be a proactive business partner, providing finance expertise and support for financial and operational decision making as well as the achievement of key strategic initiatives. This role will the key contributor to the production of the Corning Optical Communications internal reporting and analysis decks as well as being the key liaison with the Corning Incorporated finance teams in meeting all forecasting and planning deliverables. This position will focus on process improvement for all planning and analysis activities, driving to create a world class organization.
Day to Day
Responsibilities:
Lead weekly monthly forecast, budget (Black Book) and five year plan (Green Book) processes for the Optical Communications sector. Work closely with divisional, commercial and PLM finance teams as well as the strategy group to develop and deploy all forecasting and planning activities. Responsibilities include recommending full year forecast, budget and long-range plan targets and short, mid and long-term options to improving results to sector Leadership Team & Corning Incorporated financial management;
Provide analytical support for the Leadership Team (LT) to develop and prepare for internal presentations related to our long range plans as well as monthly/quarterly communications;
Key liaison with Corning Analytical Services Treasury Tax Other teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial and non-financial deliverables;
Drive improvements to the forecasting, budgeting and planning processes for the Optical Communications sector, reducing the cycle time and enhancing the quality accuracy of these processes in conjunction with the Center of Excellence team.
Supervise staff as needed, with focus on talent development through objective setting and the annual performance review process;
Other projects supporting the sectors objectives and targets on an as needed basis;
Travel Requirements: (National/International; 0-100%)
Education and
Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance plus 5-10 years relevant experience;
Prefer U.S. Big 4 public accounting firm experience;
Previous experience in Finance position(s) of a Fortune 500 multinational corporation;
Required Skills:
Exceptional financial analysis and modeling skills;
Strong project management skills;
Good presentation skills;
Excellent problem solving capabilities;
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people in different time zones/cultures;
Previous supervisor or management experience with talent development experience;
Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint;
Desired Skills:
Performance Excellence practice (Six Sigma, lean processes) a plus;
Proficiency in PeopleSoft SAP Khalix a plus;
Expertise in Visual Basic a plus;
Soft Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with Corning Incorporated, divisional, commercial and PLM finance teams and business customers/suppliers at all levels of the organization;
Comfortable challenging supplied inputs and questioning existing processes;
High energy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision in a fast changing environment;
Strong communication skills (verbal and written);

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
