Summary:
The Concentrator Team Leader will manage and coordinate the activities of the concentrator team (Mining, Slurry system, separation, operation of concentrator, monitoring of tailing). Maintain activities in a safe, orderly, efficient manner and in alignment with all clients EHS policies and standards. Maintain and develop required job performance and ability of all team members. Manage discipline process in a consistent and rational manner.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and coordinate the systems required to maintain the concentrator (managing mining systems, tails deposition, dewater, and maintenance of the concentrator site).
Monitor and manage field service operations to make sure all activities are being conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Operate heavy equipment (Track-Type Dozer, Excavator, Wheel Loader, All terrain Lift).
Operate centrifugal pumping systems.
Inspect and maintain the erosion ans sediment control of the site.
Maintenance, repair and butt fusion of HDPE piping.
Inspect and operate tailing storage facilities. Monitor and adhere to plans related to tailing placement, water management, mine pit drainage, power lines and all pipe lines needed by operations.
Track and manage spare parts and equipment to support site.
Manage a defined operational budget and staff schedules.
Conduct tool box meetings if required.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and maps; write routine reports and correspondence.
Participate in hiring of new employees and administration of disciplinary actions when appropriate.
QUAIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED
5
years supervision experience in a mining or heavy construction environment.
Proficient with computer resources: MS Word, Excel, Electronic Time keeping, and purchasing and procurement (SAP).
Familiar with electrical & mechanical equipment, HDPE piping (maintenance, repair and fusion), operation of centrifugal pump systems, mineral separation, operation of electrical & mechanical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and maps.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Previous experience operating heavy equipment (Track-Type Dozer, Excavator, Wheel Loader, All Terrain Lift).
Basic understanding of mine planning, budgeting, geology, planning, and scheduling.
DMME Certified Surface Mining Foreman and MSHA part 48 training certified.
