Basic Function:
Assume responsibility for the direction and operation of food service operations including hot meal and pantry programs.
Responsibilities:
Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and all relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. Supervise the preparation of food, scheduling, efficiency of operations and services, cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, and personnel/volunteers involved in serving and preparing food. Responsible for any special precautions in making sure that no State or Local regulations concerning the preparation, serving and storage of food, supplies, and equipment are violated. Order hot meal and pantry cleaning supplies, maintain inventory, and supervise personnel/volunteers assisting in those areas. Estimate food consumption; order/purchase supplies. Maintain sufficient inventory and review inventory for expiration dates. Organize the storage of food for preservation and for proper disbursement. May complete and/or review all client food surveys including assessment with each new client. May receive and coordinate requests for food supplies from families referred by agencies and churches. Determine eligibility of clients. Check food supplies for quality, quantity, and accuracy. Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of dishes, utensils, stoves, and other equipment. Keep all areas of the food pantry clean and sanitary. Coordinate volunteer opportunities to include Court Community Service (CCS); Work Enforcement Participants (WEP); and Food Stamp Participants. Will oversee assigned volunteers. Greet and provide orientation to volunteers for hot meal and pantry programs. Maintain volunteer database for hot meal and pantry programs. Develop and maintain relationships with volunteer groups (corporations, schools, churches, etc.) Data enter service/volunteers demographics into hot meal, pantry or volunteer databases. Submit Food and dietary receipts/invoices as appropriate. Exemplify positive role modelling by professionalism, language, work ethic and positive communication. Perform other duties as assigned or directed. Combination of education and experience normally represented by High School diploma or equivalent plus technical or specialized skills normally associated with a training program and/or certification in food service. One to two years related work experience, including supervision necessary. Ability to perform simple mechanical tasks with common household appliances (oven, blender, etc.). Must be able to form good working relationships with various resources. Must have good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 20 lbs. on a regular basis. Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually. Any MVR grade of unacceptable is not permitted to operate a personal/company vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities. Must provide a copy of Ohio Driver's license and have reliable means of transportation for local travel. Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
