Position
The Scientist Cell Biology will be performing top-level target discovery and validation research in the field of fibrosis. All this is done in a team-oriented, result-driven, international research environment that provides an excellent career opportunity for motivated scientists.
Responsibilities
The Scientist Cell Biology will
Develop, execute and evaluate cell based assays in the field of fibrosis
Use high content imaging as well as other experimental techniques to study the effects of RNAi and compounds on TGF-b signaling processes
This position is part of a Marie Curie research project, therefore about 25-30% of the employment will be spend at other partners within the research consortium (e.g. universities) for training and knowledge exchange purposes
Qualifications
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
At least a Master's degree in a Life Sciences discipline
Solid hands-on experience in setting up fibrosis-relevant assays
Extensive knowledge of TGF signalling, especially in relation to fibrosis processes
Experience with Organoid culture, CRISPR techniques or microfluidics is highly appreciated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ambitious to work in a biotech company where quality, speed, motivation and team spirit are of utmost importance to be successful.
Because this position is within the EU Framework of the Marie-Curie Initial Training Networks, only a candidate that meets the following restrictions, can be hired for this position
You have a PhD with less than 5 years research experience (including your PhD period) OR
You have a MSc with minimally 4 and maximally 5 years research experience
In the past 3 years, you have lived a maximum of 12 months in the Netherlands
Candidates of any nationality, including Dutch nationality, are invited to apply
The offer
A temporary contract for 18 months
A fixed living allowance as well as mobility allowance, if applicable.
