POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Serves as liaison between the Company and its vendor/carriers, performs duties associated with successful operation of the Company's group welfare and/or pension benefit programs. The incumbent will also assist with financial and accounting assessments of all benefit programs.
DUTIES:
(1) Serves as point of contact for Company's external benefit plan account executives.
(2) Coordinates implementation of benefit plan modifications as well as administrative policies, procedures and practices.
(3) Conducts and maintains competitive benefit information through surveys and information services.
(4) Assists with the accounting and controls relating to the proper allocation and reporting of benefit plan costs.
(5) Supports rate case preparation and coordination of responses to information requests.
(6) Provides analytic support for collective bargaining and benefit plan cost projections.
(7) Supports the analysis and evaluation of alternative benefit plans, including support for the preparation of RFPs, review and assessment of responses, and recommendation for selection.
(8) Maintains up-to-date expertise with regard to developments in benefits disciplines.
(9) Works with various aspects of the Health Plans including research, design, finance and administration, and ensures the privacy of plan participants' protected health information is in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
(10) Supports retirement plan administration.
(11) Supports managers in development, design and planning activities.
(12) Participates in decision-making associated with evaluation and selection of benefit vendors/carriers.
(13) Supports and/or represents the manager in discussions with actuaries and trustees.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred. 6-9 Years' Experience. Requires knowledge of ERISA, DOL regulations, IRS Code, and CT/MA state laws. Also requires thorough understanding of benefits program offerings. Requires strong written and oral communications skills. Ability to use PC desktop applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management, project management and HRIS applications).Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
