Mechanical Drafter is needed for a long term contract position with Yoh's client located in Southern Pines, NC.
The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Mechanical Drafting expertise of five to seven (5 to 7) years
- Unigraphics or Pro-E expertise.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
- Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
- Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment. Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
- Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items such as furniture and automobile body or chassis components.
- Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials. Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
- The position will support data cleansing activities as well as assist with the creation and documentation of designs, for the maintenance of existing products and development of product extensions, custom solutions or assist with OEM development.
- This position brings value to the organization in that it allows the transformation of ideas and concepts into three-dimensional CAD models, which are used for the manufacture of products.
- Provide design support of SBU productivity improvement projects through effective participation on cross functional teams
- Assist with development of documentation for OEM opportunities
- Create solid models and detailed drawings of new and updated components and systems
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Five to seven (5 - 7) years of mechanical drafting/design experience required.
- Experience using Unigraphics or Pro-E CADD.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented
