Responsibilities:
Works closely with development engineering, manufacturing engineering, model shop, mold tool shop, mechanical test lab, and customers, to design products that meet form, fit, and functional requirements while assuring manufacturability, satisfy customer requests, and keep projects on schedule.
Generates parametric 3D CAD models and 2D CAD drawings to be compliant with engineering and quality standards.
Design of complex assemblies, parts, machines, tools, and fixtures.
Generates concept renderings for presentations and marketing literature.
Prepares engineering and customer samples as 3D printed parts and prototype assemblies.
Provides technical assistance to the product development organization.
Qualifications:
Two year design or engineering related certificate or degree from college or technical school preferred.
B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years product design experience preferred.
Working knowledge of parametric 3D CAD software and GD&T.;
Minimum 5 years experience designing with Pro/ENGINEER (Creo) preferred.
Proven creativity and demonstrated knowledge in connector, cable assembly, and mechanical manufacturing design techniques including machining and plastic part design and injection molding.
Can-do attitude, resourceful, action oriented, and drive for results.
Effective problem solving skills.
Ability to consistently meet deadlines on multiple competing design projects.
Excellent decision making/problem solving skills.
