Provide subject matter expert (SME) guidance to colleagues across the organization to assist in improving scheduling processes to conform to and align with DHS and NPPD directives and procedures, the Government Accountability Office's Schedule Assessment Guide, and industry standards.
Provide SME guidance to working groups across the organization to provide support to stakeholders in complying with schedule management disciplines as mentioned above.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the organization.
Create and maintain an integrated master schedule that links multiple projects and has a critical path.
Assist in training colleagues across the organization on using Microsoft Project Server and on GAO's scheduling best practices. Make updates to Project Server when authorized.
To qualify at the grade GS-12, applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include activities such as 1) assisting with project schedule management; 2) utilizing project management software to assist with managing a project.
To qualify at the grade GS-13, applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include activities such as 1) providing guidance on project schedule management; 2) utilizing project management software to link multiple project schedules into an overarching program, project portfolio, or integrated master plan; and 3) measuring the progress of a project.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade in the Federal service. All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
New employees must serve a one year probationary period.
