Java Architect Role Expectations:
o Drives the design and implementation of Java/JEE based web applications
o Translates business requirements into technical specifications and designs
o Designs, implements and integrates applications components, server-side components and database access
o Reviews changes in code/configuration to determine impacts on overall system
o Assists with the configuration of the software components (e.g. web server, app server, etc).
o Assists with test case development and execution
o Prepares technical product documentation used internally and externally
o Must be able to drive problem-solving strategies for complex issues that involve cross-functional disciplines
o Able to analyze COTS products to determine the steps necessary to integrate with the products.
o For this role, the person will need to be able to learn new products quickly.
o Needs to be able to understand the project architecture and be able to identify technical issues that need to be resolved/addressed in order to successfully integrate with COTS products
o This person should be a driver rather than a passive person that is looking for information to be handed to them.
Skills Required - MUST HAVE ALL REQUIRED SKILLS TO BE CONSIDERED
o 3-5 years of experience developing Web-based applications utilizing Java technologies
o Experience with the following technologies is required: JEE, JSP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Web Services, JPA, SQL, Oracle WebLogic, Hibernate
o Experience utilizing Rational Build Forge, Eclipse, Apache Ant, and Rational Team Concert to build projects is desired
o Experience with the following software: Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Business Process Manager, Apache Web Server, Oracle Database is strongly preferred
o Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
o A minimum of 1 full life cycle custom software implementation
o Experience facilitating Joint Application Design sessions
o Experience developing screen mocks up for clients to review
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
o This resource should enjoy investigating and learning new things
o Strong oral and written communication skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
