Description and Purpose:
The Parts Counter Sales Person will assist in making the Parts Department a profitable center by focusing on providing excellent customer service using established customer sales standards.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
Determine replacement part required, according to inspection of old part, customer request, or customer description of malfunction
Advise customer on substitution or modification of part when identical replacement is not available
Utilize computer, catalog, or microfiche viewer to determine part stock number and price
Demonstrate equipment to customer and explain functioning of equipment
Prepare sales slip or sales contract
Receive and fill telephone orders for parts
Inspect returned part for defects and exchange defective part or refund money
Keep inventory control on cores to be returned
Fill salesmen's orders for new truck parts
Prepare wreck estimates and fax to customer
File engine parts updates in catalogs
Keep display area updated, organized, and priced according to sales fliers
Keep work area neat and organized
Assist in taking physical inventory of stock
Complete training requirements for the parts department
Attend scheduled parts meetings
Required
Experience:
Education/Training or
Experience:
High School diploma or GED required
Diploma from Technical College preferred
Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
General knowledge of trucks, truck parts, and the trucking industry required

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
