This is a 50 bed Medical Surgical unit with a focus for pulmonary patients. Methodist has a large patient population with respiratory diagnosis.
This unit also has a 4 bed step down Pulmonary Care Unit where long term-ventilated patients can be cared for. The nursing models are teams made up of a RN, LPN, and CNA.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
