Statement of the Job
Supervises and/or participate in all nutrition services on a daily basis, ensuring compliance with all state regulations and provision of quality nutritional care for residents. Also assist the Director on day to day operation of the department to provide quality food and service to the residents, staff and visitors of McKendree Village. Other duties as assigned/needed.
Duties of the Job
Implementation of diet orders.
Nutritional assessment and documentation.
Nutritional counseling to the residents as needed.
Monitoring weights, Tube feedings and skin breakdown on a monthly basis and document accordingly.
Care Plan development for residents.
Resident visitation regarding diet and meal acceptance.
Attend weekly multidisciplinary care plan meetings.
Developing and monitoring Quality Improvement for Food Service Department.
Supervision of Diet Technicians and Clerks.
Preceptor for Dietetic Interns.
Preparing staffing schedule for the department.
Assisting with catering and special functions.
Menu development.
Departmental Policy and Procedure development and/or revision.
Planning inservice education for Food Service Department. h2. Job Qualifications
Required:
BS degree in Dietetics, ADA Registration.
Must meet continuing education requirements.
Must demonstrate a sincere in geriatric nutrition and related problems.
Must have good sense of taste and smell to determine quality and palatability.
Must demonstrate good management skills and judgement.
Must work cooperatively with all departments following the established policies of the institution.
Desired:
Minimum of 2 years experience as a clinical dietitian.
Administrative experience helpful.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
