JOB TITLE: ESL Maintenance Mechanic
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
LOCATION: Plant City, FL
COMPENSATION: Full time- Hourly
JOB
Summary: To perform required maintenance, maintain and troubleshoot physical plant and all associated equipment to insure maximum efficiency with minimum downtime. Search for ways to improve efficiency and quality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a minimum of two years maintenance experience in electrical, PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics, ammonia refrigeration, boiler operation and overall equipment operations.
Required experience of working within a clean room environment
Ability to work in a safe and sanitary manner.
Successfully complete pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
Must have proof of U.S. Citizenship or have a valid work visa.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with the following equipment required: wrenches, pliers, screwdriver, saws, power tools, welding machine, meters, forklift, valves, pumps, conveyors, de-palletizer, blow mold machinery, dairy plant equipment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
JOB
Responsibilities:
Keep plant and all equipment maintained to insure optimal production and quality.
Perform all work in a safe manner to protect employees and equipment, following all safety guidelines.
Visually inspect all equipment daily for proper operation.
Perform all necessary preventive maintenance for equipment.
Troubleshoot any unscheduled process equipment issues, electrical or mechanical.
Schedule needed downtime around production schedule when possible.
Maintain boilers, air compressors, condensers and ammonia equipment.
Repair/rebuild fillers, pumps, motors, conveyors and all equipment as needed.
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or superintendent.
Keep maintenance shop, boiler room and engine room clean (MSP) and organized.
Install new equipment and project/idea generation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee will occasionally be sitting, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, smelling, reaching a level of 8 ft., and carrying, pushing, lifting or pulling up to 50 lbs.
The employee will frequently climb a height of 10 ft., kneel, and feel.
The employee will continuously stand, walk, handle, talk, see and hear.
Successfully complete pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
This position is classified as a safety-sensitive position; Responsible for creating and maintaining a safety-conscious work environment according to policies and procedures.
ENVIRNMENT:
Environment involved is all plant production areas: inside/outside, heat/cold, wet/humid.
The employee will be occasionally exposed to twisting of the back and neck, slippery floor surface, cluttered floor surface, contact with skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes, and sprays.
The employee will frequently be exposed to contact with sharp objects.
The employee will continuously be exposed to loud noise and hazardous equipment (mechanical moving parts).
