Job Description
Perform as a pro-active leader of assigned area of responsibility providing support and direction to work team, including but not limited to leading, motivating, and training to achieve production results and enhance teamwork. This must be accomplished in conjunction with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements. The Production Supervisor must work towards continuous improvements while sustaining effective employee relationships, which includes fostering innovation and cooperation to solving problems utilizing lean techniques to manage employee, machine and materials to accomplish goals
Responsibilities
The Lead Production Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading the second shift supervisory team.
Coordinate processes for second shift.
Report to first shift management daily.
Handling personnel issues on second shift in cooperation with HR.
Cost Center Safety, Quality and Productivity Performance objectives.
Evaluating/coordinating training needs and initiatives of work team. Includes coaching and guidance as required as well as delivering disciplinary measures as needed.
Performance Evaluations. This requires the monitoring of performance.
Assessing/recommending staffing requirements while maintaining budgeted resources to maximize production output. Operate within expense budget.
Daily scheduling and effective resource allocation.
Conducting productive and informative team meetings.
Completing accurate and timely required paperwork.
Lead process improvement initiatives - sometimes across shifts.
Monitor work team progress in 5 critical areas, i.e. Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity and Managing Employee Performance. Develop/execute improvement plans as required.
Project Management assignments as extended by Area Operations Leader.
Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve work place organization, housekeeping and throughput.
Reduce scrap, rework and warranty costs.
Resolves issues by analyzing data, investigation and identifying and recommending solutions.
Requirements
AA or AS or BA/BS degree and 3-5 years HVAC preferred or equivalent experience. 5-10 years manufacturing and supervisory experience required. Ability to read financial reports, interpret graphs/analyze data, make succinct formal presentations, pc proficiency, teambuilding and communication skills.
