The Veterans Administration Health care System (VAHCS) in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a full-time Board Eligible/Board-Certified, Internal or Family Practice Physician. This position is located in the Elko, Nevada CBOC.
The physician serves as a primary care provider in the Community-based Outpatient Clinic. This position provides a full range of primary care services to an assigned panel of patients emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the VA mission.
The scope of primary care is defined in applicable VA policies. These services will be rendered in a thoughtful and resource effective manner consistent both with VA policies and with the highest standards of medical care. Such activities include, but are not limited to, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, specialty referrals, care coordination between service lines, and communication with patients and/or their appropriate surrogates regarding findings and management plans. In addition, the physician will also provide service to patients on other provider panels as needed to provide continuity of care when the other providers are absent. The physician is responsible to contribute to the achievements of quality of care standards, efficiency, process improvement, and patient satisfaction. The physician writes orders for diagnostic testing, prescribed medications, and consultation to specialty services utilizing computer-keyboarding techniques using the CPRS system. The physician is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values and with a commitment to service excellence. Board Certification preferred.
The CBOC Physician will further support the VA mission through participation in applicable VA national, VISN, and local quality and process improvement initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, performance measures and monitors and advanced clinical access. The physician will work with supervisory and front line staff to foster and improve the operation of the CBOC.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
